I think this a software bug...

I have this happening and have found others with this using google search back to 2017 (I have 2018)

The issue:

Car is parked and charging at home, using chargepoint charger, or at work using chargepoint charger.
I initiated a remote climate turn on...to warm up or cool the car.

I come out to the car (20 min later) unplug it...go in the car...start it...and there is no satellite radio playing anymore.
my current solution is...do a reboot of the entertainment console (hold power button down 5 sec...reboot)
After the reboot...satellite radio plays normally and no problem.

Repeatable.

Called Honda...looked in their database...saw no issue reported...REALLLY!!! I found it on google from a year ago in 10 sec.!

So...has anyone else seen this?

Other than this...the car has been good...love it actually...but this is a bug!

Honda wanted me to go through a sequence of things...including a full reset...NO...

Just wondering if there are others who have seen or heard of this, and what was done.

Have the car since 9/20/2018...about 3 months...so far this is the only issue.

Regards.

I kind of have this issue to with my 2018 Clarity. When I back my car into the garage I will loose my radio satellite connection. When I precondition my Clarity I will not have a satellite connection when I pull out of the garage.

I haven't tried the reboot by holding the power button down for 5 seconds since I just read about it right now. I have basically turn it off and back on....still no satellite connection. This happens just about every morning but not all the time. But I do beleive I always precondition my car in the morning. The signal will always come back when get back in my car an hour later.

This time I will make a note how I loose my sattellite connection and try holding down the power button to hard reset the radio.

While I have never had this issue since I do not pre condition...I read about a work a-round on another forum.

If you wait for the Honda graphic to go through its cycle on the dashboard screen before pressing the ON button...Sirius will work even after preconditioning.

According to this post...the key is to wait for the graphic to finish.

Obviously a software glitch that Honda USA will hopefully deem worthy of a software update.

Hope this helps

Good luck.

I can give that a try...but i did try to do the same through the hondalink app...turning off the climate control...that did not help!

and as far as waiting for the graphics to finish...not sure what that means...graphics come up...sits there and no satellite radio!

only power on/off reset works

I'll have to try the fan button on my remote too. I have confirmed that my satelite doesn't work when I precondition my car. Although, there was a couple of times the satelite radio did work after I precondition the car.....but most of the time it doesn't work and I have to hard boot the radio for it to work again.

I have this issue as well. This happens any time I use the remote climate control feature regardless of whether the vehicle is charging or not. The other radio sources work fine. The satellite radio returns after one trip and some wait time or a reboot. I have not tried the remote fan control though I have turned the climate control off prior to exiting the office via the Honda app to no avail.

While not a safety issue, anyone who wants to put pressure on Honda to get this issue fixed should file a NHTSA consumer complaint at safercar.gov. Car manufacturers tend to put priority on NHTSA filed complaints.
