I have a 2018 Clarity PHEV Touring. I use CarPlay most of the time but have a USB stick with a set of folders with some audio on it. The problem is that none of the files or folders are sorted correctly!

I thought that going in and numbering tracks and folders the way I wanted them to appear would solve this issue. It didn’t.

Then I thought that cleaning up the ._ files that Macs use to store metadata would fix it. dot_clean cleaned up my files, but the stereo still won’t sort things right.

For instance, it shows the order of Demon Dayz by Gorillaz as follows:
15 Demon Dayz, 06 Feel Good Inc., 13 Fire Coming Out of the Monkey’s Head, 01 Intro, 10 All Alone, 02 Last Living Souls, 12 Dare, 09 November Has Come, 11 White Light, 04 Oh Green World, 03 Kids With Guns, 14 Don’t Get Lost In Heaven, 05 Dirty Harry, 07 El Mañana, 08 Every Planet We Reach Is Dead

Even with the track numbers pretended and 0 padded to 2 digits as needed, it just won’t sort them right.

I’ve checked the audio player screen, it isn’t set to shuffle in any way. I’ve also triple checked the file names to ensure there aren’t spaces at the start. Finally, I’ve opened all the files in kID3 to check their metadata to see if the track order is messed up, and it is correct in all the files.

Has anyone else had this issue?

In the track/folder listings, you can see that the Clarity assigns a number to each folder and a number to each track. These numbers will differ from the numbers I assign since it goes down the folder structure and 'flattens' it down with its numbering. That's all well and good unless it messes with the order of the tracks.
