I looked today (honda.garmin.com/honda/#getstarted) and a new 'maps' version was available. You'll need a 16gig or up formatted to fat32 memory stick and some time. 1st go to the previous link and download the program and instructions. Insert the stick into the passenger side flash drive slot and follow the instructions from the download. Then insert into the computer and it will determine if you need the d/load. Altogether from start to finish it was a shake over 2 hours. All pre-sets are still there.

A long way from having to buy updates.

Honda 'stuck it'

Yep, it said I am good into 2023 on upgrades. Maybe by then I'll have another one LOL
I updated mine earlier. The switch to Garmin was a huge improvement over Honda's poor navi system. Plus the first 5 year updates are free. Not ready to use up my phone's data in place of this.

First step in the update process and neither USB port would recognize my USB stick. Formatted and tried again still nothing. Tested the stick on my computer and it transferred files successfully. Am I missing something?

Did you start the car with the stick plugged in? (recommended)

Did you format it to FAT32?

Tried to reboot the head unit yet? (Hold down the "audio power" 'button' until you get a prompt to reboot)

As Cruiter above (thanks!) NAV upgrade went smoothly. I wish there was a way that it would just “download” off my internet as the car is parked close enough to the house to get a decent signal. And also tell you when an upgrade is available like an iPhone does or laptop programs.

Hi,

New poster here...

In reference to the instructions on the site https://honda.garmin.com/honda/site/generalInstructions concerning Honda Navigation Updates, in the last step it says "The map update will take up to one hour but may vary based on the map region. During this update your Honda navigation system must not be turned off. Therefore, the engine must be running while the vehicle is parked outside or in a well-ventilated area."

Since some of you have already done the update, my question is, does the car in fact need to be running ( as one would consider a conventional vehicle running ) or is it sufficient to have the Clarity in auxiliary mode in order to power up the navigation panel? The latter would seem to be sufficient as the panel would be powered.

I was going to wait until next week to ask my dealer, however, I've found that user forums often/ usually know more than the dealers one often encounters.

A bit about my Hybrid history.

I've had four: # 1 - 2000 Insight (which I still own), #2 - 2010 Insight, # 3 - Accord Hybrid, #4 - 2018 Clarity Touring
