Clarity mystery of the day: when I shut off the car, the display on the dash briefly shows "TCU Timer OFF". What does this mean?

Yeah. If you've downloaded HondaLink app to your phone, you can set the charging schedule at a specific time and you can also set a reminder. Once you set the schedule up, you will see it on your car's dashboard when you turn if off.It means you do not have a set time for the charger to turn on when you plug in.
Mine is like that - as soon as I plug her in, it starts to charge.
If you have a electricity rate plan and set a scheduled time to start charge then the TCU will be set to remind you that charging starts at a certain time.
Usually if you use L1 (OEM) charger, then you don't need to set the time.
If you use L2 (240V) charging, then it might make sense to take advantage of charging at a certain time of the night...
You can also set the timer using the settings menu in the car, however I find it easier to use the HondaLink app.Yeah. That is correct thanks for bringing that up. However just so everyone is aware using the fob to start charging will cause it to charge until full even if the timer had been scheduled to end at a certain time. You can also override the scheduled charge time if you press and hold the charge lid release button (Page 463 Owner's Manual).
