Just purchased my 2018 Clarity Plug In and I LOVE IT! I've read conflicting reports about sunroofs-- namely, that Honda didn't even make them available on the Clarity's, but I've also read that *some* (??) Clarity's DO and that it's possible to add/install a sunroof if yours doesn't already have one.

Anyone have any experience with this? I'd love to install (or let's be honest, have a professional install) a sunroof if possible.

Thanks!

You can almost always install a leak source (aks sun roof) in a car. It will require rerouting the antenna cable but it's doable and there are plenty of aftermarket shops that will do this for you. The big problem with sun roofs is they require drains to keep water from accumulating and those drains tend to clog in some climates.

Having a sunroof would be wonderful. I still have my last car, a Hyundai Elantra. That became my son's car once I leased this one. On a sunny day, I'll drive that car with the sunroof open. It's wonderful. It makes the car feel so much bigger. If you do find a company that can do this, please post it. If I do end up keeping this car at the end of the lease, and I'm leaning towards doing that, I would look at putting one in.

I had a sunroof put in a Maxima I owned. I was shocked at how good it looked, even from the inside. However, they wired it wrong and it ended up causing me to get rid of the car eventually (well, one of the reasons I got rid of it).

I don't see how you could put an aftermarket sunroof in the Clarity. Those ridges and the recessed area would, I'm guessing, make it impossible. Also, on Honda's website, they make a point of saying how the Clarity's roof is laser-welded for greatly-improved body strength. Something tells me they didn't do that for nothing. Maybe something about the Clarity's construction means the Clarity's roof needs to be extra-strong.

All of that said, I'd love to see someone else try it and see how it turns out! I really want a sunroof. BTW, the one on my Maxima (a friend has it now) has never leaked.
