Anyone know what that loop of seat belt fabric is for that is sewn on just below the buckle on the front passenger side of the car?

No. But I'd love to hear the explanation. It can't be an accident!
Thanks for putting it out there to see if anyone knows.

It’s like a better version of those little buttons that keep the buckle from falling down between the seat and door

good old Japanese solutions that are simple but don't complicate and add to product costs, which is typical of German car makers. :D

I think you are correct. Now the question is, "Why only on the passenger side?"
Terry
That's a real head scratcher. Can't say I've noticed... I'll have to check next time I get in and drive.

It is on all seat belts except the drivers. I was told it is to stop the buckle from rattling against the door post while under way. The driver’s belt doesn’t need it as it s buckled.
