Anyone know what that loop of seat belt fabric is for that is sewn on just below the buckle on the front passenger side of the car?

good old Japanese solutions that are simple but don't complicate and add to product costs, which is typical of German car makers.

That's a real head scratcher. Can't say I've noticed... I'll have to check next time I get in and drive.

It is on all seat belts except the drivers. I was told it is to stop the buckle from rattling against the door post while under way. The driver’s belt doesn’t need it as it s buckled.

The only other time I've seen something like that is on a fall arrestor safety gear as a telltale to show if the harness needs to be replaced.
