I am trying to compare the Base to the Touring. The Touring has leather power seats, navigation, leather steering wheel, the Base lacks these. In one ad for the Touring, it touts "climate pre-conditioning", I assume that means I can program it to heat or cool the car while it is still plugged in in my garage.

Is this unique to the Touring??

You're correct in that both models can use the phone app for the climate control. Not all of the trim inside the touring is leather, however the seating surfaces are and perforated to breath. The vinyl trim in other areas is of a high quality and it's hard to tell the suede like trim isn't real suede. Have entered in pretty hot interior temps and not hard to sit on at all. Also the A/C in the car is excellent. All of the cars I've bought in the last 20 years at least have had leather. It's nice to be able to adjust yourself without being stuck to the cloth. But it's personal preference.

The build rate is currently about 75% touring models. That will probably have some effect on resale. Even though the Honda NAV system is supplemented with Waze and Google maps, I use the Honda system most of the time and also includes traffic. One of the features I particularly like is the map shows the availability of Level II charging stations. That's how I found the ones at Whole foods that offer free charging. Often I stop there for lunch while the car is topping off on a drink of 240 volts LOL. It has a lot of extra features not on the other two along with free upgrades you can do yourself.
My Honda Link app allows me to pre-conditioning the interior from the phone. I have base model as I didn't like the fake leather and with Houston temperature the sun gets the seats.
