Power on button turned red

Seems to me I remember starting the car pushing the powe on button and the button was green while power was on. Now its red. No error message or mechanical warning but one of my keyless remotes doesn't work. Am I imagining this or was the button always red while power was on?

I believe red is accessory mode only. In other words the car won't move but the radio will stay on.

The power button blinks white when you first get into the car.

If you then press the power button without pressing the brake pedal it goes into accessory mode, which is basically just the infotainment screen and power for the USB ports. While in accessory mode the power button blinks red. Actually it doesn't so much blink as the brightness level undulates.

If you press the power button again without pressing the brake pedal it goes into ON mode, which turns on the instrument panel display, the DRL's, and also enables power windows and the fan (but not AC or heat). In ON mode the power button lighting is the same as accessory mode, i.e. it is red and it continues to undulate in brightness.

If you press the power button while pressing the brake pedal it goes into READY mode. The power button is still red but the brightness no longer undulates.

Note that while in Accessory or ON modes the electrical power is coming from the 12V battery and it will eventually drain it so you don't want to stay in these modes very long. If you will be parked for any length of time you should put it into READY mode so that all of the electrical power comes from the HV battery. Being in READY mode also allows you to run AC or heat.

I notice when I switch to the "sport" mode all of my lights turn red. You might check to see if this is your situation. Don
My 2018 Clarity is great. The only concern is that in my first 2 weeks, the car was totally unresponsive for about an hour. Each time, about an hour.

There was an orange warning light on the far upper right (steering wheel icon and an !) which apparently means there's an issue with the electronic power steering. I have an appointment next week, however I was wondering if this has come up in this forum before?

Thanks for any thoughts

Haven't heard of this, but it sounds like maybe a bad 12V battery. However some things aren't clear from your message:

"in my first 2 weeks, the car was totally unresponsive for about an hour"

So the problem only occurred the first two weeks that you owned the car, but the problem has not occurred since then, is that correct? How long have you owned the car?

By totally unresponsive you mean the car was completely dead, no lights of any kind other than the one warning icon?

"Each time, about an hour."

Approximately how many times during the two week period did the problem occur? As compared to how many times the car started normally without a problem. Did the problem only happen at home or were you sometimes stuck in a store parking lot for an hour?
