Passenger side mirror

Few days ago someone was passing by the car and on purpose had snapped off passenger side mirror, I have gone through recordings and while the car is blocking the actual action of snapping it off, it barely slowed the person down.
The actual mirror is whole and its snapped exactly at the part where it can pivot and fold it.
Now I have looked at the replacement and I am furious. Honda charges $813 for the right side mirror and forces you to take every single thing in order to fix the mount.
Who makes a design where you must buy the whole mirror even though every single component including the camera is whole?
Anyone has any ideas on what can be done and how this can be addressed other than paying $1000 for paying for a new mirror even though the one I have is whole and has all functioning parts?

A call to Honda Dealership confirmed that they see a lot of these mirror orders and no stock at the actual dealer, must order from the warehouse.
Since you have video of this report this to the local police and get a case number. The police probably won't do anything because they won't have anything to go on but you need the case number. Then report this as vandalism to your insurance company. This should fall under comprehensive/uninsured motorist and not impact your rates.
