How often do you change your engine oil in your Clarity? I can honestly say I don't have more than 2,000 miles on my current oil. Do I really need to change the oil when my dashboard prompts me to (A1)???

How long has the oil been in the car? My wife's Clarity appears to be counting down to one year for an oil change. I say appears because the idiot maintenance minder doesn't tell you what is the next service, just roughly when one is due.

I assume you mean you have an estimated 2,000 miles of engine use the rest electric only.

What people have found is A01 pops up around 6,000 miles, but it seems to be only for tire rotation. But it lists oil change also presumably because they figure you will be in anyway why not do oil change at the same time. But the why not is most people will have very low actual engine miles by 6,000 miles. So what you do is rotate your tire and reset the minder just for the tires, and what happens is the minder completely goes away until the next one at around 12,000 miles. And then do the same thing.

The owners manual mentions that even if you don't receive a minder message you should change oil at least once a year. So that's what a lot of people are doing, even if their mileage is relatively low after one year. Oil does degrade over time so once a year seems reasonable. It also might help in the unlikely event there is a warranty issue and you need to prove that you have been changing the oil no longer than what is stated in the manual.
