I purchased a Clarity earlier this month. 550 miles in and only sipped a bit of gas. Love it! Great smooth, quiet ride with lots to love about the interior, even if the infotainment system is a bit laggy.
Mostly in town driving, where it is quiet except for the angle's singing. I do understand why they are there, though I wish there was a button to turn them off like the Canadian models. Most of my quick hops on flat freeways are great, I stay in EV because I'm not going far and can charge on my return. I did use HV on the freeway last night (uphill and a bit longer distance) and discovered what others have talked about in terms of the engine noise. Definitely not my favorite part of the car - yikes! I'm glad I bought this as an in-town driver. It's wonderful for that!
Speaking of noise, I notice the emergency break is very loud when turning on or off - an electronic noise that actually makes me a bit concerned about its longevity. I searched the forum for "emergency break" and was surprised no one had posted about it. Does anyone else find the noise loud/concerning?
Looking forward to discovering more about my first car that is not 100% ICE.
