I recently took a trip with 5 people in the car. We were in the car all day. It seems like no matter how we adjusted the back speakers using the fader setting, the sound was horrible in the back seat.

Has anyone else experienced this?

The bulk of the sound comes from the front speakers. Rear speakers tend to get muffled by various impediments, such as seats and luggage in the trunk.

Take it to a stereo shop - they can retrofit the speakers with a powered amplified set and even add a compact subwoofer.
