Hi there everyone,
I bought me a salvage clarity with a mild degree of damage and getting the parts has been worrisome.
While I found most parts (missing trunk glass) by now I did get these replies from multiple honda websites:

Sorry to say that the part you ordered (73711-TRT-A01 - Glass Set) is unfortunately on national back order with no expected date at this time. It could be several weeks/months before it becomes available again.

So far I now there is a national backorder for bumper cap, trunk glass, daytime light.

With the clarity now discontinued by Honda (bad timing I would say if the green deal is/was approved), I worry parts will stop being produced.

Does anyone else have had problems sourcing parts as well?
Would you say this is a pandemic issue or a permanent problem that we will face from now on. Meaning getting in a mild accident will total your car due to a lack of parts.

What you've found is true with a lot of items sourced from overseas.

I think I see my BIL's new refrigerator on a container ship offshore from Huntington Beach, CA, awaiting a berth in LA/LB harbor. He ordered it in October.

Hopefully it is just a logistics issue that will resolve sometime next year, by the looks of it.
If that's the case then I am not as worried.
That's a lot of spoiled food :0, jajaja.

1 of the advantages of buying a popular car [prius, civic, m3, f-150] is there are plenty of used parts.

THIS is my main concern with EVs. A lot of these vehicles are “compliance cars” thus the OEM has no intention of mass producing/supporting the vehicle. I def think the clarity falls into this category.

The LEAF / PRIUS PRIME are substantially inferior but you will always be able to find used parts b/c Toyota has sold over 500k priuses

I'm in the same page. I bought one with "light" front end damage and it is really hard to find parts on stock. Dealers, all in backorder. Used junkjards, with limited parts available......, I don't want to thinkg when I'm gonna be done but honestly (and I'm positive), I don't know when this problem will be fixed but I will recommend you to take a seat and just wait for a miracle.

There are a bunch of front bumpers on www.car-part.com says they are "18 mi" from me in Sun Valley. I used to go there for used Mercedes parts, it is a decent (long) drive, BUT there are quite a few available, besides one that looks to be in ON Canada...

Living in California, can be a little easier to get parts since California has a bunch of Clarity including fuel cell, etc. so go to the junkyard right there must be a easy task to find parts but finding parts to be shipped was not. Also they overprice the used parts (equal or even higher than the Dealer price plus shipping costs :cautious: Right now, I got a couple parts that I ordered in Honda Parts Now that are supposed to be shipped by the next week. I hope they will do without excuses. I got cross fingers!

Yes I had to wait 6 months for that stupid glass in the trunk lid. I am selling my old bumper cover and both taillights that mount in the trunk lid
