Yesterday I was maneuvering at very low speed pulling into a parking spot. I was surprised when the CMBS stopped the car dead in its tracks. See the photo below and figure out why it happened.

My guess is it seems the shiny red on the bumpers as brake lights. Then it engages the brakes early as it assumes the truck may be stopping short.

The features in the plane of the back bumper should have the Clarity behave as it usually does, when presented with the rear of a vehicle.

Yeah, it was pretty close to the right spot. I was almost going to put on the brake but the car did it for me.

Out of curiosity, did the car go into park or just hit the brakes? If it went into park did you open the door to see where you were relative to the curb?

I don’t believe it went into park. I remember seeing “BRAKE” on the display. I was about where I always am relative to the curb, maybe 6-9 inches away from it.
