I test drove a Volt before deciding on the Clarity. I am surprised to see that they will no longer be made.

It is an odd decision since this is the direction that the industry is heading in. I guess GM doesn't see the need to offer it alongside the more successful Bolt.

I think it may also have to do with the general confusion between the Bolt and Volt. The b/v difference is easy to see on paper but is less obvious in speech. When speaking with my friends about the bolt and volt in the same conversation I have to specify BEV vs PHEV or they'll switch them around in their heads.

Or it could just be that GM wants to clear the way for the Bolt and only have one electrified vehicle...
