backup camera sucks

I don't have an issue with this. Is it possible your camera is faulty?

Would replace if I can. My 2014 Mazda CX-5 has much better camera image quality than this.

Hmmmm. I always thought mine was adequate. After all, we’re not taking photographs with it to be entered into a contest. It’s a backup camera that shows you what’s behind the car and you probably use it all of 20-30 seconds out of the day.

Ever try cleaning the lens? I use an eyeglass lens cleaner and cloth. (It's actually a service item to clean the lens for our Porsche, so if the video ever degrades I try to clean it on our other cars as well).

I agree it's a terrible camera. I wish there was a way to replace it too.

I think the display is very low resolution compared to others.

I guess it depends what you're used to. I agree that the resolution could be better, especially at twilight. But I have a 2013 Elantra with a backup camera that makes this one look great.

Why does it need to be higher resolution? It won't buy you anything.

My problem with it, is if the sun hits the screen you can't see anything even at it's highest brightness setting. Anyone have a solution for this?

We have both Android and iPhones in the household. While the CarPlay maps look quite simplistic the Google maps in satellite image mode look very detailed. Anyone know the specs of the screen?

There are some screen protectors that specifically reduce glare. Photodon sells various types and has a template, although not as perfect fitting as I’d like. The version I chose has glare and smudges a lot from finger oils I’m afraid.
