Any solution for organizing center console or the area under the shifter?

Looking for better solutions to organize stuff in the car. I miss having the old ash trays, I used to put everything in there.
Any ideas?

I bought the rubber mat that Honda makes for the center console, helps keep things from sliding around. It's $25 on Amazon, search for Center Console Mat for Honda Clarity 08P10-TRV-110. Some places price it cheaper, but then they add shipping which makes it cost more than Amazon. Some people think even with the mat installed it's still too slippery, I guess it depends on how slippery your phone is, my phone pretty much stays put now whereas without the mat it tended to slide around. The only real complaint everyone has about the mat is that it's how the center console should have been built in the first place, we shouldn't have to pay twenty-five bucks to make it work right. Some people just get some rubber shelf liner and cut it to fit. I'm sure that works also, but I will say that the Honda one fits perfectly, once installed you don't even know it's there.

I'm actually more interested in organizing the center armrest storage. It needs a tray like I had in my previous car, where more commonly used items can go onto the tray, and everything else goes underneath. The tray had a handle so you could lift the tray up and get to the items underneath, like you have in a toolbox. I thought about making one myself, the tray itself would be pretty easy to make but it needs something to support it. Maybe I'll get some angle brackets like in the picture below and glue them to the sides of the storage bin, or maybe use those 3M Command Strips to stick them on.
