Hello everyone. I’m new here and have spent a bit of time on YouTube and google trying to find and answer with no luck.
can the clarity run 85mph in EV mode?
I have about a 15 mile commute on interstate which is run 80-85. Hoping I can do this in all electric and then charge at work and run electric home. Im picking up my 2018 clarity next week!!

Most freeways here in Southern California have a speed limit of 65 MPH. That said the fast lane(s) can get up to 80 MPH at times, and a rare 90 MPH. But at those speeds I am more concerned about watching the road and for law enforcement than verifying I am still in EV mode. I do believe it can for sure reach 80 MPH and very likely 85....

FYI - I routinely run my 2018 Clarity at speeds of 85-90mph here in Phoenix in EV mode. Not only does it stay in EV, the car handles phenomenally at these speeds. Just beware, your guess-o-meter for EV range will drop significantly if you drive this way regularly. At full charge, it typically shows me with only 28 miles of range available in EV. If I'm driving further than what I think I can get on EV, I let the EV get me up to speed and then switch to HV at cruising speed and then back to EV for the short in-town portions of my commute. PS. The speed limits here are 65 as well, but you'll get run over in the carpool or fast lanes doing less than 75 or 80.

Great to know.
My commute is 15 miles each way so 30 miles in total. I am hoping I can do all 30 miles in EV mode and then charge at home overnight!
I normally run 83 mph for probably 23 of those miles and then 60 for the other 7 miles.
Looks like top speed in EV mode is 100mph.
According to this picture from Honda, you'll probably get around 30 miles range at 80MPH during mild weather.

We have been from Illinois to Flagstaff several times using our Clarity. The car will quietly get to 100 mph in Electric mode. Found this out passing two semis in KS, OK, TX. not sure which. I was near the end of a passing zone and looked down to see 100. So did my wife. But it was so quiet that it was almost uneventful. Last time, we came back through west TX and cruised comfortably at 80 in E and HV Charge mode.
