Hi Friends,

I am a new owner of a Honda Clarity 2019 Base model. I have 3500 miles on the car. I like the car very much and am enjoying the ride.

I have a question though - When I fill the gas tank (7 Gal), the miles the car shows me is 192. this number is just for the gas and not electric battery. When i charge the Battery fully, it adds 46 miles more.

But, my cousin has a clarity and when she fills gas, her full tank shows her 295 miles gas efficiency.

I just wanted to know if there is something wrong with my car.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Mine shows 325 for some reason. Never tested it to see how many it would get just on gas. You would figure at 40 mpg and 7 gallons it should at least show 280.

All depends on your driving habits and conditions. Milage will be lower in the winter. A heavy right foot will lower mileage also. Just drive it and enjoy!

As Groves stated, it's just an "educated guess" based upon how the car has been driven - the more you drive, the better it gets at estimating.

I've had the odd experience of the number saying I had 0 range left, while the gauges showed that I had a quarter-charge and the "low fuel" warning light was not lit. I estimate, btw, that the warning lights when there are approximately 1.5 gallons of fuel remaining in the tank.

To Admin: The OP created three identical threads with the same title yesterday, probably because it was their first post and it didn't appear immediately so after the initial post they posted the same thing two more times. The original thread was created at 11:07 am, followed by duplicate threads at 11:11 and 11:14 am. The initial respondents replied only to the original 11:07 am thread, but now people are starting to reply to one of the duplicate threads. Is it possible to move the responses in this duplicate thread to the original 11:07 am thread? And delete the 11:11 am thread (no replies to that one at least not yet). Thanks.

In the summer I see 350 miles of range but in the winter I rarely see 300 miles. Normally On trips I will get 45-50 MPG at 65 MPH. I just drove a 350 mile trip at 80 mph in SD with temps about 30 degrees. Started with a full battery and gas and made 280 before the low fuel warning came on. I drove another 30 miles to nearest gas station and took 6.5 gals to fill. 38 MPG (250 miles on the gas side) but again all at 80 MPG. Also had a slight headwind. My main complaint about this car is the tiny gas tank. Most of my daily driving is on electric only. I have gone over a month without any gas at all. All in all I like this car a lot. Some quirks, though, like after refilling the gas tank it may take a day for the gas gauge to get to the full mark.
