Bittersweet end to a good 3-year lease of my 2018 Honda Clarity. Really enjoyed the mostly all electric driving around town and the level 2 charging at home.
But once I found out that Honda was not going to make an all-electric vehicle, I knew it was time to move on.
My 2021 Model Y Long Range Tesla was delivered in October and loving everything about it. The biggest surprise was that to insure a 2021 Tesla is cheaper than a 2018 Clarity.
Posted the Clarity on the KBB web site and the Local Honda Dealer had a great offer that beat the Honda Dealer I leased the car from by 2K. I made 8K on the deal.
Only issue that I had was the Honda dealer delayed payment to me because they said that the bank lost the title. Once I called the KBB support number and complained, dealer paid me in full. The buy out of the car was around 14K. When I stopped by the Honda dealer to pick up the check, they had two 2018 Clarity's selling for around 28K.
Thank you everyone on this site for all the help and good information and reading.
It was a great 3 years.
Thanks for sharing with that with us and enjoy the new Tesla!
I am keeping my 2018 Clarity so I just finished buying her out from Honda for $14,100.
Best lease I have ever done - and love the low cost of ownership!
My selling dealer did offer $2K cash to put against another Honda if I returned the lease which I declined.
Good news that used Clarities are going for way over my buyout price!
As a side note, I am have reservations for an EV truck - have $100 reservations on each of the Ford F150 Lightning and Chevrolet Silverado WT.
