What ELSE didn't the dealer do?

This is the question that will keep me up, sleepless, tonight.

I drove 135 miles into a neighboring state today to buy a 2018 Base-trim - the car was built in November of 2018 and had been on the dealer's lot since January 2019.

First thing I did upon arriving home was to plug it in using a Siemens Versicharge - only to have it throw a fault and refuse to charge. Called Siemens, they'll get back to me tomorrow.

So I dug into the under-trunk for the OEM EVSE and found, to my surprise, the un-needed front license plate holder and the four FRAME PLUGS. I had specifically requested two things of the dealer: 1) Are the frame plugs installed and, 2) Have you done a battery capacity test - and was assured that both had been completed and both were as they were meant to be.

I've downloaded the Clarity PDI from another site and see that I can install the plugs myself - but it seems I need to go to a dealership to have the pack capacity tested. I'll wait until the tires have cooled to see if they are properly inflated - that seems to also be a common dealership snafu...

The frame plug the OP is referring to are the 4 sound deadening plugs or covers that go under the car frame when it's delivered to the customer.
These are not installed during transport as they are used to hold or anchor the car in place.
When the plugs are not installed, you get more noise transmitted from the road into the frame into the unibody.

It's a shame that this dealer did not do a complete PDI.
Most dealers around the country do not have the incentive or willingness to do a correct PDi for the Clarity - maybe due to lack of knowledge or lack of training ???

I was lucky to have the PDI checklist in my hand while I was waiting for F&I.

I went thru the list with my salesperson and he was happy to do them all including a full charge in the service dept L2 charger.
The salesperson opened up the service dept (after hours) and performed all the PDI items except for the battery capacity test because the service dept did that a week prior when they prepped the car to show on the lot....

Your un needed license plate holder for the front - you should sell it - it's worth $40 at the dealer.
There was a Clarity owner who moved states and the new state requires a front plate and ended up paying for it....
