Text Message Notification Efficient Clearing Method

Hi All,

When I am using Google Maps via Apply Carplay and I receive a text message the notification sits on the top of the screen. As far as I can tell it is a 2-step process to remove it from the screen. I’d like to be able to swipe left or long press it or something that is one step instead of two.

I know I can put my phone in do not disturb mode and no notifications will appear. However, I still want notifications, but just a more efficient way to clear the screen.

Does anyone know any “tricks” on this matter?

I know this isn't the answer you want but it might give a clue: In Android Auto, text notifications appear and, if you respond, they disappear from the current screen but do stay as cards on the home screen. If you DON'T reply, they vanish on their own after a few seconds - but also stay as cards on the home screen. This is NOT how messages work on Android phones so I'm guessing that they might work differently in Apple Carplay than they do on an iPhone. You might find a better response in an Apple Carplay group. Good luck!

I believe it mirrors your iPhone setting. The message disappears for me in CarPlay after several seconds. On your iPhone -

Settings > Notifications > Messages > Banner Style > Temporary

From a safety standpoint I'd reconsider even receiving the notifications. Unless you're a doctor, paramedic, volunteer fire fighter, or other first responder, responding to a text message is NOT critical.

Thanks. That is my setting already. Not sure why it is not functioning that way.
