Clarity EV

Hello everyone,
I picked up a grey color EV this week. I noticed no forums posted in this forum and I assume its because of a very limited number of clarity EV in the market now. I hope to see more users in this section to share and learn about this car.

Congratulations, you must be on the 'left' coast if you have the EV model. What kind of range have you experienced so far?
Do you mind commenting on why you chose the EV over the PHEV model?
Thanks

Being a new community I think its natural to see it like this especially with everyone these days on Facebook and Instagram, some people don't know forums exist.

Yes, I live N.California near sacramento. I see the miles displays 100-108 on full charge. Its good enough for me, only using for city driving. I chose this primarily for the low lease rate ~$200. I was told I have no option to buy back this car, need to return back to honda.

You and your state have had it especially bad this year. I hope you have not been directly effected by the fires.
Along with my church, our prayers and best wishes have been out to everyone out there. With so many homes and buildings/business effected we're wondering here in the East how so many people that have lost everything including possibly their place of work will cope? The amount of damage and number of casualties is just too big to wrap my head around.

RE

I just picked up a Clarity EV over the weekend. Wow, not a lot of active forums showing there aren't too many out there, so I figured I'd jump in here.
So far, I love it. Coming from a Ford Fusion Energi, I love the quickness, the interior, the 4x EV range, and the monthly TCO of roughly half. So far, with pretty aggressive driving to test the car our, I've averaged, 3.8mi/kWh over ~80 miles. I only drive 6 mi/day on weekdays, and ~50mi/day on weekends, so the range is totally fine for me. Not much else to share now, but I'll check back as I have more experiences with the car.

Well, for short commutes and a $200\month lease, I guess I could drive a Clarity EV. Doubt you could find a lease on a Bolt or Leaf near that rate.

The Oregon Electric Vehicle Association had a raffle/drawing for $5K towards a new LEAF at the the Portland Auto Show. When we helped the winner look at leases, they used the $5K + the $2,500 Oregon rebate as a "down payment" on an SV trim LEAF. Payment was still $280/mo on a 36 month lease.

Makes my deal on the Clarity Electric look like a steal. $499 down ($1,499 less $1K loyalty cash from the Fit EV program), 35 payments of $199, less $2,500 OR rebate. Comes out to $4,964 for 3 years or ~$138/mo.

Do I wish it had more range? Of course. But can't currently touch any other EV for anywhere near that amount and we have a 43 mpg "gas guzzler" for longer trips (and our motorcycles for vacation trips )

That sure makes up for not having self-service gas stations! I found that to be the strangest thing when my wife and I vacationed on the Oregon coast a few years ago.
