Internet on screen?

Hi Everyone,
From the owner's manual: "You can connect the Display Audio to the Internet using Wi-Fi and browse websites or use online services on the audio/information screen. If your phone has wireless hotspot capabilities, the system can be tethered to the phone."

I'm not sure what to expect based on this statement. I followed the directions, turned on my phone's mobile data connection and mobile hotspot, and made sure it was on the car's Wi-Fi Device List, but I didn't notice any changes on the screen display indicating I was online, other than the Wi-Fi connection On icon. Is it actually referring to the Android Auto/Apple Carplay apps? I'm aware of them being available but this is treated separately in the manual. Can anyone shed some light on this? I'm trying to (gradually) learn everything I can about the car. Thanks!

I am not as tech savvy as others. But this has been discussed on the other forum and the consensus was that this feature is essentially worthless.

Some people's Clarity if they go to the App List there is a browser icon. Other cars like mine, there is no browser icon on the App List. Why some people have the browser icon and some don't I don't know. At first I figured it had been removed by the time my car was built (Nov 2018), but some people with newer cars than mine claim to have the browser icon. But I am not aware of anyone using it because it is as close to being useless as you can get.

The browser icon can be restored using an aftermarket software called Honda Hack. I tried it and got the browser icon, but just as everyone reports it is useless, pages rarely load correctly because the browser is out of date and cannot be updated and is missing add-ins that modern web pages require. And it is frustratingly slow, not that I require fast speed like a modern computer but think of a very old phone or computer on its very worst day where you can barely even use it and most pages won't load correctly, and that is what it is like. And it was also slowing other screens loading on the infotainment system so I uninstalled Honda Hack. It's probably a good software, but the processor and RAM on our head unit is barely capable of loading even the existing screens, no way can it handle something like web browsing.

Internet on screen

Thanks to both of you for that info. There are plenty of apps that will use the screen through Android Auto, so there's really no need for anything else, especially something that's really slow to use. I'm perfectly satisfied, and sometimes overwhelmed, by the technology features in the Clarity already .
