Someone with HondaLink Remote Climate Success - Help

Can someone who has had success with their Remote Climate from HondaLink app help? I have tried everything recommended online and cannot get the remote Climate to work from the app (neither the Scheduled nor On Demand). I also can’t get the Find my car feature to work, but who cares.

I have a 2018 Base Clarity PHEV.
Texas summer is coming and I would really, REALLY love this car more than I already do if this feature worked. The keyfob remote climate does work every time.

Today - it’s 90 degrees in the garage.
The car is locked. I had auto climate “On” and set to 73 when I shut off the car.
Both my device and the car are within full bars of 4G and LTE service of multiple cell carriers (this is something I don’t have much information from the web about).
And when I shut off the car and disconnect my iPhone 7 from the car, I can force an update and get the latest mileage (though the battery level displayed in the app has always been wrong).

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app.
I have rebooted the control head.
I have tried unplugged from shore power but >90% charged.
I have tried plugged in to Level 1 120V and fully charged.
I feel like I’ve tried everything short of spending hours with a tech on the phone or at my dealer with some unqualified technician who knows less than the folks who have owned their car for 2 months or more. I’ve had this sweet car for 3 weeks and so far this is my only real disappointment.

Please help if you can or have better information.

Try this. Completely delete the app from your phone. Re-boot the phone. D/load the app again. It's all about a bunch of computer devices trying to work together. Your phone is one and several are in the car. If that doesn't work, you can actually set it from the display in the dash using the buttons on the steering wheel. You should probably refer to you owners manual before trying this and just go step by step but you can do it.
I miss mine, it was totaled just over a month in a multi-car incident where someone drove into mine going backwards between 30 & 40mph. Just got the figures today from the insurance company on what they want to give for my Clarity Touring with 8740 miles. $26700 and change plus tax on that amount. I may get another one or the new RAV4 Hybrid that gets 41 in the city.

The remote climate is the only piece of my Hondalink app that actually works. I've spent countless hours on the phone to their tech support, and been to the dealer 4 times trying to get the rest of the app to work. Both are worthless. In your case I think you need to have the car connected to a level 2 (240v) charger at the time you want it to turn on. Try that.

I had the same issue and discovered the "Auto" does not mean automatic climate control. The Climate button to the right of Emergency Blinker button was the key. When I pushed it I discovered the AC was not on...turned it on (the Auto shuts off) and my remote climate control now works...both the key fob as well as the iPhone app.

I have had no problem with my Clarity using the remote app. However you cannot use it when you are plugged into a 110 volt charger, only when plugged into a level 2 charger 220 volts either 16 or 32 amps. Also mine will work if I am not plugged in at all, just not with the 110 volt charger. That is a strange quirk

Actually the remote climate will work while plugged in to 120v. The charging just needs to be stopped before you turn on climate.

there may be an update to the app and if not that there may be a software update for the car
Cruiter when you get your next car ask the dealer for insurance on the loan if the car is totaled that will pay it off

That's something different that's gap insurance which covers the difference between the payout on a totaled car and what is still owed on it. What you are thinking of is new car replacement coverage which will pay for a brand new replacement car of the same type.

Still not working nor had any more success in troubleshooting. I have not tried the climate button, but I REALLY don’t think that’s the issue.
I get to a point where the app says:
“Sending command”
“Contacting Server”
“Connecting to Vehicle”
“Awaiting Response”
“Waking vehicle”
“Retrieving status”
Status updating...”
“Unable to receive a response from the vehicle at this time. Maybe it is in an area of no coverage.”

But!!!!!! I can get it’s location from the app.
I can get notifications when the charging has stopped and is complete.
How is that possible if the coverage is poor?
I just don’t understand how this isn’t working.
