Question Colors and Feus de Lis

So, new lessee of Hybrid plug-in since Oct 20 2018. First I love this car. Basic question? The colors that circle the speed limit gauges change, red blue green, etc., what is the precise meaning and the what does it mean that after I shut off the gas motor, some green "fleur de Lis" appear in the display, and the number of them have increased? Anybody else see this and wonder about the meaning?

It is all sort of explained on pages 20 and 21, and 130 and 131 of the Owner's Manual. (If you don't have one, you have I believe 6 months to order a copy from the web site.) The Honda people (bless those folks!) are trying to get us to drive more responsibly with less energy footprint. I imagine it is an attempt to have us join in the current global drive towards the decarbonization of our transportation system. And they probably feel that you would not have invested in this car if you didn't feel likewise.

Those colored arcs in our peripheral vision are supposed to change color to reflect how fuel-efficiently we are driving. Green: slow acceleration or deceleration. White-green: moderate acceleration or deceleration. White: aggressive acceleration or deceleration. Red: driving in SPORT mode (a kind of warning to be cautious).

The four leafed plant (is it a fleur-de-lis?) is the symbol of ECON Mode, and is displayed on the ECON button and also above and o the left of the power gauge when you choose ECON Mode.

The display of flowers at end-of-trip or whenever you set the power mode to OFF is your Drive Cycle Score/Lifetime Points. Depending on you driving style, the leaf icons and the gauge increase or decrease to indicate that you have reached a different stage of fuel economy. To me, it is a bit hokey and resembles scores you would get playing video games (LOL).
And to complete the gaming theme, if you invoke the Eco Drive Display you can have a vehicle icon moving up or down depending on the aggressiveness of your accelerations or decelerations. The game is to keep the icon in the middle, representing better fuel economy.

It may seem a bit hokey, but I am fully addicted(!) . Somehow it gets me to drive smoothly and calmly in ECON mode. The trip becomes a serene ride. (YMMV).
