Display unresponsive when iPhone connected via USB

I noticed in the last couple of days that if I'm listening to an audiobook on my iPhone, connected via the USB, the touchscreen on the display is unresponsive. It's not completely dead, but it ignores about 90% of the touches, responds very slowly, and sometimes doesn't respond at all. If I unplug the USB the problem goes away.

Anyone else notice this? Any workarounds, other than the obvious one of not plugging my iPhone into the USB connector?

Could always trying rebooting the infotainment system or resetting it back to factory, if its some sort of software issue. Do you have any issues with the screen calibration outside of using the USB connection?

No, the calibration itself seems fine.

How do I reboot the infotainment system... does it reboot every time I restart the car?

I use an I-ten with my touring model and I am curious why you are set up using a USB connection. I hope you don't mind asking why but I am set up with my phone connected via Bluetooth and when I listen to an audio book the sound comes through the speakers loud and clear. I also have the advantage of havinging the phone connect automatically through the sound system every time I get into the car without plugging anything in. I have a wireless charger I paid $18 thru Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Char...Mount+Air+Vent

The price went up since I bought it. I have three vehicles with a different charger in each and I prefer this one because the mounting system is most secure.

When I get into the car I just put the phone in the holder and it stays charges while I use it. I do not know how the USB connector works but using the bluetooth connector automatically lowers the fan speed when you have a incoming call. It also stops the book at the part where the phone rang and it does a few other things that may not work when you connect via USB.Have you tried Bluetooth and if you haven't why not?
